In Memory of Oliver, GVC Clinic Cat (?? - September 2008)
We will miss you, Oliver. You were only part of our lives for a short while, but we all loved you. You were brought in for euthanasia, but we could see in your eyes that you weren't ready to go. You were 15, round as a basketball, purring, and begging for love. You just didn't fit into your family's daily routine anymore. We asked if we could give you a home instead, and your family was relieved. We tried to send you to two wonderful homes, thinking you'd like the quietness of a home much better. But you knew that we needed you to supervise our work at the clinic instead. You were perfectly happy to lounge in your cat bed and watch over the treatment area. You soaked us with drool every time we petted you, but nobody could resist. We were so sad when your age caught up to your kidneys. You were so brave during your treatment, even though you hated it. When your kidneys did not respond, we knew you were telling us that you were ready. It was so hard to let you go. Thank you for being our "Hot Tamal-iver". We will always miss you.
"Thank you for taking care of Kodiak and our family with such compassion. It was such a sad, hard day, but the gentleness you showed us really helped our hearts." - The Huffmans
